New leadership is what Hillsboro needs now. Hillsboro has been under the thumb of developers and special interests for decades. We’ve seen their handiwork in the recent spate of data center applications designed to skirt a state moratorium.‍‍ ‍

True reforms are being made, spearheaded by Hillsboro City Councilor Kipperlyn Sinclair who is running for Washington County Commissioner for District 4 (see our Washington County Slate). But the current citywide moratorium only lasts 120 days. Reforms are needed to shift the city’s economic vision away from industries that squander land, water, and energy in exchange for few jobs and low tax revenue to industries that generate local wealth while protecting our natural resources.‍‍ ‍
